San Miguel oil painting takes its inspiration from the town San Miguel de Allende in the central highlands of Mexico.
In the center of the town square is the beloved Paroquia,a church built in local pink stone with beautiful symmetry,adored by the locals and the home to archangel San Miguel.
My painting imagines archangel San Miguel flying above the Paroquia in the skies with his sword of love and light,silver leafed, a gypsy style angel flies alongside him with a golden leafed sword with golden coins of abundance and good luck dropping from her hand.
In the painting the Paroquia (temple to archangel san Miguel) sits on a bed of crystal,which local mythology says the whole town and area of San Miguel de Allende is said to rest on beds of rose and crystal quartz.
