This painting is inspired by the ancient Greek temples of antiquity. It depicts a vivid, sensual dreamscape where high priestesses, wild cats lay peacefully upon each other on the temple floor, all dreaming with their eyes closed. the central serpent goddess, whose influence is both Mediterranean and that of ancient India as the goddess Kali, a black cat, and the giant serpent remain awake, with eyes open inviting the viewer deeper into the painting. The scene unfolds beneath the luminous glow of a full moon, with the elements of water, a lake and fire aflame in sacred urns. One of the high priestesses is part leopard, whilst another has a mermaid tail.
An ancient temple of knowledge sits behind, inviting the viewer to pass the scarlet serpent of wisdom and enter into their own dreamscape.
